Precise measurements make the difference between a garment you wear and one that wears you. Use the tables below as a starting point — for made-to-measure pieces, book a fitting at the atelier. All measurements are in centimetres unless otherwise noted.
European sizing. If you fall between two sizes, size up and let the atelier take it in — a tight chest cannot be let out, but a loose one can always be pulled in.

The neck is the anchor measurement — it determines collar fit. Chest and sleeve follow. For a slim silhouette, go by chest; for a classic fit, go by neck.

Waist is measured at the natural waistline — one fingertip of room, no more. Inseam is from crotch to hem, taken on a pair that currently fits the way you want.

Measure the length of your foot heel-to-toe in cm, standing with your weight evenly distributed. Always fit to the larger foot. Leather softens — new dress shoes should feel snug, never tight.

A seamstress tape, not a carpenter's. If you don't have one, run a string along the measurement, mark it, then lay it flat against a ruler.
Arms relaxed at your sides, feet shoulder-width apart. Measurements taken while holding your breath or flexing will lie to you later.
The tape should touch the body without compressing it. You should be able to slide a fingertip underneath without a struggle.
Chest, shoulders and sleeve length are nearly impossible to measure alone with accuracy. Enlist a friend — or book a fitting at the atelier.
